Hi! My name is Lexie Danner. I live in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina with my husband, dog, cat, turtle, and a chicken.
It is my belief that we each possess the resources necessary to meet the challenges we are presented in life. Resources are those things, actions, qualities, faculties, and relationships we can draw upon for aid in times of need. Through a mutual relationship built on trust and transparency, we will explore where you are now, where you want to go, and how you might get there. I have worked with adolescents from the ages of 14 to 18 and with adults of all ages. I enjoy working with individuals regardless of gender, faith, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, ethnicity, or race.
A healing modality I have discovered is Emotional Freedom Techniques, sometimes known as tapping. EFT brings together science, an ancient healing method (acupressure), language, and mindfulness into simple, gentle techniques for clearing obstacles to natural self-expression. It has been used to treat anxiety, trauma, to clarify and actualize goals, and to remove obstacles to personal growth, among other things. It is easy to learn and can be used independently or with the help of a practitioner.
I received a Master of Arts in Professional School Counseling from Appalachian State University in 2011. I hold two professional certificates: a certificate in Expressive Arts Therapies and an EFT Intermediate Practitioner 1 Certificate in Emotional Freedom Techniques. I am currently operating as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA license # A12987).
